Possible Love

Ho-seok and Mi-ok have spent years trying to keep their family together. Ho-seok lost his job after a mass strike and has struggled since then. Mi-ok works at a mask factory and looks after their young son, Cheol. Their marriage has grown quiet, while Ho-seok keeps most feelings to himself. At a former colleague’s funeral, Mi-ok meets documentary filmmaker Ye-ji. Ye-ji is making a film about workers who lost their jobs. She becomes interested in Mi-ok’s family and wants Ho-seok to speak about his past.
Ho-seok first avoids the camera, but Mi-ok agrees to talk. She and Ye-ji soon become close despite their very different lives. Ye-ji is married to Sang-woo, a wealthy businessman who lives in another world. The four eventually have dinner together, and an unusual friendship begins. Ye-ji keeps trying to reach Ho-seok, hoping he will finally open up. Her efforts work for a while, and Ho-seok agrees to share parts of his story. Mi-ok also starts enjoying the freedom that comes with this new friendship.
Their relationship takes a deeper turn when Ye-ji invites the couple to Sang-woo’s coastal villa. Away from daily worries, Mi-ok feels a freedom she has almost forgotten. Yet the trip also exposes the distance between the two couples. Money, marriage, old wounds, and hidden feelings begin to change how they see one another. Ye-ji’s interest in Ho-seok also becomes harder to separate from her work as a filmmaker. What starts as a documentary about workers slowly becomes something more personal. Possible Love explores Love, class, desire, and the fragile ties between four very different people.
