Baek Ho-rang has almost everything money can buy, except a normal heart. The third-generation chaebol heir runs a major resort under TS Group. He is also caught in a tense fight over the family business. But his biggest problem stays hidden. Ho-rang lives with an artificial heart, and its battery is running dangerously low. He needs another surgery soon, or his health could get worse.
Na Bo-bae lives with a problem that sounds almost impossible. As a child, she was struck by lightning and gained strange electrical powers. A simple touch can shock anyone near her, so she wears gloves and keeps her distance. She also works as a drama writer and has little time left on her contract. Worse, she still has to finish a romance script despite never having a real relationship. Then she meets Ho-rang, and something strange happens. He is the first person her electricity cannot hurt.
Their lives change again after Ho-rang has surgery on his artificial heart. A storm causes a blackout at the hospital, and his new battery begins losing power. He soon discovers that Bo-bae can recharge it simply by being close to him. With another operation still three months away, Ho-rang makes her an unusual offer. She will help keep his heart running, while he helps her experience the romance she needs for her writing. Their contract brings them closer through awkward dates, physical contact, and unexpected feelings. Since Take Charge of My Heart is an upcoming Netflix K-drama, the outcome of their relationship remains unknown.
