Novelist Moon-jae, who lives alone in his small, secluded world, suddenly has his life completely changed when one day his phone doesn’t recognize his fingerprint and the only friend who can handle everything for him goes missing. Then Moon-jae discovers that a mysterious person named “The Rat” has taken possession of his name, identity, property – even the proof of his existence. In order to regain his identity, he sets out to find this unknown person.

In this search, Moon-jae seeks help from No-ja – a tough loan shark who also runs a private detective agency. No-ja has been looking for Moon-jae for three years because he has an old debt to Moon-jae. In the hope of getting his money back, No-ja gets involved in this strange mystery and starts looking for The Rat together with Moon-jae.

On the other hand, detective Sun-yong also gets involved in the investigation of this mysterious incident. As Moon-jae searches for his lost identity, the lines between reality and deception become increasingly blurred. In the end, it’s not just finding The Rat that becomes his biggest struggle—proving himself to be the real Moon-jae becomes his biggest struggle.
