Plot

Kang Bi-O is one of the most talented piano students at Korea Arts High School. She works hard to always be at the top in both her studies and piano performance. But her perfect life changes when a new transfer student, Choi Jeong-Yo, joins the school. Jeong-Yo, who is naturally talented, quickly becomes Bi-O’s biggest rival.

Although Jeong-Yo has loved the piano since childhood, he was forced to suppress his talent due to difficult family circumstances. One day, Bi-O’s piano performance reawakens that old dream within him. When the two meet at school, a strange musical connection begins to form between them, along with rivalry. At the same time, viola major Hong Jae-In, Bi-O’s close friend, plays an important role in their lives.

By playing the same piano with four hands, Bi-O and Jeong-Yo begin to understand each other’s weaknesses and strengths in a new way. But talent, competition, and constant comparisons with the people around them gradually put their friendship to the test. Bi-O’s own limitations are questioned for the first time, and Jeong-Yo is forced to confront the dream he has kept away from reality for so long.

As these three young men move from adolescence to adulthood and become professional pianists, they struggle with ambition, friendship, love, and their feelings for music. Four Hands, Two Sonatas is not just a rivalry between two talented pianists; it is an emotional coming-of-age story about finding their dreams, relationships, and the true meaning of life through a competition to surpass each other.
