Song Kang is a South Korean actor who has rapidly risen to prominence, often dubbed the “Son of Netflix” due to his starring roles in several popular series on the platform. Born on April 23, 1994, in Suwon, Gyeonggi, South Korea, he pursued a degree in Film Arts at Konkuk University.
Song Kang made his acting debut in 2017 with a supporting role in the romantic comedy series The Liar and His Lover. He quickly gained recognition through his diverse roles, showcasing his versatility across genres. His breakthrough came with the globally successful Netflix series Love Alarm (2019–2021), followed by critical acclaim for his performance in Sweet Home (2020–2024). Other notable works include Navillera (2021), Nevertheless (2021), Forecasting Love and Weather (2022), and My Demon (2023–2024).
Managed by Namoo Actors, Song Kang has received several accolades throughout his burgeoning career, including nominations for Best New Actor at the Baek Sang Arts Awards. He also served as an MC for the SBS music program Inkigayo and was a fixed cast member on the variety show Village Survival, the Eight.
Song Kang commenced his mandatory military service as an active duty soldier on April 2, 2024, and was honorably discharged on October 1, 2025, after serving for 18 months. His return to the entertainment industry is highly anticipated, with plans for new projects already being discussed.
